3. Key IELTS Reading Strategies

- Skim & Scan: Read the title and topic sentences quickly, then scan for keywords.
- Beware of Paraphrasing: Questions rarely use the exact words from the text; look for synonyms.
- True / False / Not Given Tip: If the text does not explicitly confirm or contradict the statement, select “Not Given”.
- Time Management: Do not spend more than 20 minutes on a single passage.
